Pre-lockdown Trip to PD

Image
We knew it was coming but it was Monday last week when they had announced that Selangor will be in full lockdown for two weeks - and I was gutted. I had planned for Jared's birthday staycation and Kee Zhen's birthday day out. Fortunately enough, I hadn't booked anything for both.  We had gone for a trip to PD the previous weekend. Mainly because we wanted to go to the beach and kayak. It was meant to be a complete family trip but Aisyah and Syameem had decided to stay home last minute because they became close contact.  I've seen a pattern when it comes to weekend trips and it's the fact that I would only start packing in the morning because of work. So, it gets a bit hectic especially because we tend to leave right after Subuh and would end up with everyone waiting for me. Because I had stayed up the night before to finish up a thermal model for work, I was extremely hungry throughout the journey. Luckily, the two hour drive didn't feel too long and I had a goo...

Patriotism

11 years ago, I went to Manchester with a heavy heart of having to leave everything behind but now I'm back, 11 years later and I want to go back to Manchester. 6 years ago, I cried stepping out of KLIA because it was too bloody warm. And 6 years ago, I hated Malaysia and Malaysians so much. I hated everything. I hated coming back to Malaysia. I hated being in Malaysia. There was never a day where I was happy to be back in Malaysia... 6 years ago.  In those 6 years, I got to know my home country and I grew to love it. Honestly, I'm embarrassed of being a Malaysian but I'm proud of Malaysia. Malaysians were what made me hate Malaysia 6 years ago until I realised that I was a Malaysian myself. And that was when I realised that just because you hate the people living in a certain country, it doesn't mean you have to hate the country.  And until now, I still believe that Dato' Onn Jaafar didn't get enough credit for what he did for all of us Malaysian...

Speak how you want to speak

Image
From Tumblr I usually speak in English when I'm not bothered to think and when I do speak Malay, I jumble it up with english words and add the -ed and the -ing. It's not that I don't like speaking in Malay because believe me, only Allah knows how much I wish I could speak both English and Malay fluently. It's just that it's really hard for me to think of words when I am actually speaking in Malay. I'll get stuck sometimes and when I do, I'll start speaking in English. And sometimes I go blank and no malay words would come into my head when I'm nervous. So, whenever I am in one of these blank situations, all my questions and answers would instantly be in English. The other day, I was learning how to drive with my instructor and I came to a roundabout... before this, I never had to stop and every time I did, I was on the first gear so it was easy. At that time there was a car going in the roundabout so the first thing I did was I stepped on my br...

Rain

Image
I've never been a fan of rainbows but I've never hated it but isn't this pretty. I've always loved the rain and BM tuition. The rain, even though it's annoying sometimes (couldn't go out, gets the shoes wet, drenches me and my clothes) makes me smile. I don't run around in the rain, instead I shelter from it but the sound, the smell (of polluted rain) and the wet grounds that come with it magically calms me down. When I'm sad, the rain makes me happy. I'm not sure if I'm just the opposite of everyone but the rain has always been my best friend, back in Manchester and now here in Malaysia. I don't like it when it's warm... therefore I don't like it when the sun's out. What am I doing in Malaysia?!

Naega

NAEGA JEIL JAL NAGA Dumdidum. My bracelets dah sampai. I'm like celebrating. Well not really. I have like 25 things to do on my to-do-list like what the. I'm getting tired of life. Seriously. Eh wait, I'm getting tired of myself. Yeah, so tired of myself. Ramadhan is coming soon. I can't wait to be honest. I don't even like Eid... cos I have never had fun during Eid. Cos then memories on how I used to celebrate in Manchester comes rushing back. Cos Eid over there beats Eid in Malaysia except for the fact that we don't have our families (Mak, Mak Tok, Pak Tok, Pak Ngah, Busu and etc). England isn't even a muslim country and we had an Eid party in school. Jangan harap nak ada dekat Malaysia. Stuff like that. Plus, my brother and my sister would only be home for a bit. My best friends would only be home for a while. I'll be some kind of loner but then I'll have my mum, my dad and Muaz. But nothing will ever be complete again. And the...
